Alex Shashlo specializes in developing and executing cutting-edge digital campaigns, engaging the grassroots and reaching key decision-makers. He currently works with campaigns on every level domestically and internationally as well as with national advocacy organizations and nonprofits.
Most recently, Alex led the digital campaign and produced media for California’s historic Prop 12, setting records for peer to peer voter outreach. He also directed digital strategy and served as a strategic adviser for Florida’s successful Amendment 13 to phase out greyhound racing.
In 2017, Alex produced media and coordinated digital strategy for Doug Jones’ historic 2017 victory in Alabama, producing over 40 ads and helping elect the first Democratic Senator in Alabama in a quarter-century — while winning several Reed and Pollie Awards including Best Ad and Best Campaign.
During the 2016 cycle, Alex directed digital strategy for several campaigns, including three statewide ballot initiative campaigns and multiple congressional campaigns, including the YES on 3 campaign in Massachusetts with the Humane Society of the United States, leading to the largest margin of victory for an animal protection campaign in history. He also led the digital efforts and produced media for Ro Khanna’s upset Congressional victory in California over an eighteen-year incumbent.
During the 2014 election cycle, Alex coordinated digital programs for several clients including the Humane Society of the United States and Seth Moulton for Congress, where he created and executed digital ad campaigns, developed targeted microsites for acquisition and engagement, and managed online voter contact campaigns across social media and email. His work in MA-6 with Seth Moulton helped raise over $180,000 online to unseat a powerful incumbent.
In 2013, Alex and the Trippi team launched the largest political Thunderclap in history to raise awareness for immigration reform, a campaign that culminated in a nationwide two-day virtual march across several major platforms, including Google Hangouts, Vine, Tumblr, Reddit, and Twitter.
An organizer at heart, Alex joined the Trippi team in 2012 after working on President Obama’s team in Virginia. Alex helped implement a unique voter contact campaign, delivering a battleground county for the President while setting records for voter registration and turnout. Alex’s field office was featured in the Washington Post, NBC News, and several international news outlets.
